Bugs... After you die once, never load properly again.

I think this is the simplest way to implement procedural level generation and I like it, the simpler the better honestly. I think there is just a lack of juiciness, the player needs more feedback, animations, particles, etc. And regarding game design, the player needs some restriction, some obstacle, it could be time limit, limited number of moves, enemies, or anything, but it needs at least one obstacle element. I think it's a good prototype. Not a game yet.
By the way, there is a bug that the green cube appears behind blue ones, meaning it is impossible to reach. And the game simply has no end, so the scoreboard will always be empty.

Chuckykillr responds:

Thank you for the feedback, It means a lot to me. I have taken a liking to your suggestion on the limited number of moves, and I have been working on a way to make the levels more interesting and harder with secret features that will be found in the next update of the game.
Finally, I have encountered the bug and am fixing, as regards to the game having no end I am planning on adding one.

Really cool game, nice graphics, sounds, feel, the "juiceness" is there. Very well made man. I think you have to balance a little bit, it's too hard now. Make the game easier so that players can see more of the content.

I loved the music, and I also liked the way you presented the controls, BUT I'm confused, I think there's a bug, when I touched an icon (which I don't know if it's my enemy or a power up) nothing else happens. Is this the game? Confused.

rustimak responds:

Hi! every icon in this game is an enemy. You must to kill them all to past the another wave (
except the tv, that's only an obstacle). You must to evade and shoot the icons. When they touch you, they hurt you.
In the future I will change the icons and be clearer in general.
Thanks for the comment!

Very good for your first game. But I would like to mention a few things that would make your game even better and maybe you can implement it in your next games. Do not allow enemies to attack when the player has not seen them, as this leaves the player with a sense of injustice. Add more feedback on the shots and when enemies are hit, more sounds, flash screen, camera shake, ... About level design, add more objects to the scene, even if they have no gameplay function, anything breakable would make the level more interesting. These are just a few simple tips that can make just about any game better. I wish you the best and congratulations on publishing this game, many devs never even finish any projects.

I think the biggest problem with the controls is that we have to wall jump with W + A or W + D, and when you are on the wall and try to jump (W) the character doesn't respond, that causes strange situations like canceling jumps that seem to be valid when you are close to the next wall for example.

UPDATE: After the update the game got a lot better. The only thing missing from the controls is the ability to "get off the wall" when you press S the character should get off the wall and grab again only if the player presses W or D/A.

Ace17771 responds:

UPDATE : You can now use arrow keys instead of WASD
Wall jumping should now be easier
You can climb the wall by pressing W or UpArrowKey when next to one.

(Now pressing W or UpArrowKey won't make you come off the wall)

Good concept, good graphics and all, but for me there is too much dialogue. In fact, I'm very curious about how many players actually read everything. Have you implemented any analytics lib to check this out by chance? Can you share the statistics?

CubeBleu responds:

The main idea was to use jRPG elements and put it in a Pong game, so dialogues are indeed a big part of it!
But maybe next time we will balance the amount of text a bit more, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for this game Alex, it is awesome.

I love your games so much, they are so creative, coherent and with elegant mechanics. I wish one day I can reach this level as a game developer.

StuffedWombat responds:

ahhhh thank you so much :D

the only really good advice i think is to make many small games and learn to live with the pain when they suck?

also dont forget to go outside and talk to friends :D

This remembers me of Downwell, graphic and mechanics are very similar. Love the game.
